The education of deaf children is complex and has been controversial throughout history. The main issue has been whether oral or manualcommunication should be used.

This volume contains 15 articles focusing on translation teaching and learning. The goal of the book is to provide research that assists in the training of future translators and contributes to constructing a systematic translation teaching and learning theory. This volume is double-blind refereed in order to ensure the quality of individual submissions as well as the volume as a whole.

Även normsystemens särdrag, interna relationer och övervakningsorgan, behandlas. Texten innehåller också avsnitt om folkrättens förhållande till finsk rätt. Boken är avsedd för inträdesförhör men är även lämpad som lärobok vid universitet och andra läroinrättningar.

The book introduces Dynamic Concept Analysis (DCA) as a way of analysing phenomena using conceptual models. An aim been to develop research methodology to suit to understanding how ´the whole is more than the sum of its part` in the fields of education and social sciences.

DCA can be regarded as a general approach to recearch that might have applications also in other fields. DCA allows systematic use of information in building conceptual models. It makes it possible to build a bridge between the nomothetic and idiographic approaches, i.e. to use the same conceptual framework for general descriptions and for describing individual cases. It has been used as an interpreter between theoretical concepts and empirical observations. The book includes theoretical discussions on DCA, and seven applications.
