Telle Hailikari on tutkinut, millä tavalla opiskelijoiden ennakkotieto heijastuu oppimistuloksiin eri tieteenaloilla ja mitkä ovat ennakkotiedon arviointiin soveltuvat keinot ja menetelmät. Hailikarin tutkimuksessa kehitettiin malli ennakkotiedosta, jonka toimivuutta testattiin kolmella eri luonnontieteellisellä alalla. Tutkimuksen keskeisenä tavoitteena oli tarkastella, miten yliopisto-opiskelijoiden korkeatasoista oppimista voidaan tukea ennakkotiedon arvioinnin avulla.

How, for example, can we make students’ previous learning experiences ‘visible’ to all? This research focuses on emerging questions of intercultural learning in the context of immigrant training, and on a method – the Culture Laboratory – that was developed in an attempt to respond to the challenges.
